老挝是东南亚唯一不临海的国家，但同样有着山清水秀的风景，琳琅满目的民间工艺品。金粉画、尖角纸灯、木雕品、织锦布……无一不折射着老挝人民的勤劳与智慧。
老挝也属于小乘佛教传播广泛的国家之一，因此全国都制作与佛教有关的工艺品，金粉佛传画就是其中之一。绘画者用金粉调和颜料，在木板或绢布上作画，晾干后画面熠熠生辉，色彩经久不褪。尖角纸灯是东南亚其它国家没有的特殊工艺品，不用时可以很方便地折叠成平平的小块，用时只需一提纱线，纸灯就自然成形，可以套在任何灯泡外，映衬出各色图案，方便耐用，很受游客欢迎。
此外，彩色油纸伞、织锦花布、圆纸彩灯、木雕器皿等也是当地特产。当地的小孩子在放学后通常会抱着一个扁扁的纸匣在街头叫卖小玩意儿，诸如绢布民族娃娃钥匙链、佛珠、手串等小东西，价格不贵，颇有纪念意义。
